I found this canvas that I had textured and painted a mottled blue, when sorting out my canvases and boards a couple of days ago. I decided that it needed using, so here's what I did with it!
30 x 40 cm oil on canvas,available
Nobody's lonely here and they all get along together! The animals belong to a friend, Ruth Eva, who has quite a menagerie to look after as well as working at the local animal sanctuary.

The title says it all I think! So wonderful to run free no rider on their backs, stretch their legs and probably roll in the dust when they're done.

Alone in a field, I saw him passing by in our car on the way to the framers, we stopped and he came trotting over so I could take his photo, I must remember to put a bag of apples in the car for next time.

A lush field at the edge of town was where we noticed mother and son quietly grazing, the colt noticed us first and came over to say hello with his dam close behind.

This handsome fella came to see if we had some carrots and was rather disappointed when we were empty handed. I will be painting more equine subjects in the near future as I will have a stand at the Dublin horse show in August.

This bovine lady came to the gate to inspect us and left her companions busily munching the lush grass I wonder what she made of us, snapping our cameras at her!

We passed a small herd of young steers while making our way to the beach last summer. I took a few snaps of these handsome friendly faces for future reference, I always leave out those ugly tags that they get in both ears I like to portray them au naturale!

This was one of a herd of young steers that came to the hedge to inspect us 2 legged specimens, they are such funny, inquisitive creatures and like to see whose visiting them up close. Where I live I am not short of cows to photograph, that and sheep are very abundant here in Ireland.

I see that I haven't painted a critter in a long, long time! Well I thought that it was about time that I got back to them again.
This pretty lady resided for awhile in a cat rescue center a friend helped out with, so I took the opportunity to photograph some of the cute inhabitants before they found new homes.

12" x 12" oil on canvas, NFS
This is a kitty belonging to a dear friend back in England, I have been promising to paint her portrait for ages and I have finally got around to it. It took me quite a while to get her right, but I am finally happy with her.
Unfortunately my painting room faces south and I have large patio doors to let in lots of light which is far too bright and when I paint from my computer screen the colours and contrast change dramatically. Especially difficult on a day where the sun comes in and out, drives me batty!
